I got 55% on my Science test. First place in the Crescent hockey pool and Second place in the Thornlea pool. Did homework and watched TV.

Monday November 6, 1989

I got 80% on my Accounting quiz. We ordered a pizza from Pizza Pizza for dinner. I traded Rob Brown and Craig Simpson for Pierre Turgeon and Dave Ellet.

[Note - it sounds like I got fleeced, but it was a good deal!]

Sunday November 5, 1989

I watched football. Played road hockey with Guy, Jordi, Buntman, Sesel, Brad, Gavin and Ryan F. Did homework.

Saturday November 4, 1989

Brian and I went to Farview Mall and I got a new pair of jeans. Buntman, Sesel and I went to Yonge and Eglington. Met Amanda and Casey.

[Note - Amanda and Casey looked familiar, we ended up chatting them up and eventually gave them a ride home in Buntman's Jeep Cherokee. This was the start of a lengthy friendship as I am still friends with both of these girls.]

Math test. English A essay due. I saw Gross Anatomy at Bayview Village with Poster, Fisch, Fingret, George S, Peck, and Levine.

Thursday November 2, 1989

We did a First-Aid class in gym. Jimmy Carson traded to Detroit by Edmonton with Kevin McClelland and Edmonton's 5th round choice in 1991 Entry Draft for Petr Klima, Joe Murphy, Adam Graves and Jeff Sharples.

Got another Interim Report Card. Watched Growing Pains and Head of the Class. Did homework.

I got 86% on my math test. I went over to granny's for dinner and watched Who's The Boss and The Wonder Years.

Monday October 30, 1989

We had a super-long cross country run. We ran down post road, to Bayview Glen and eventually back up to Crescent. Tortellini for lunch. Watched Murphy Brown. Did homework.

Brett invited a few of us to his brother Hart's Bar-Mitzvah. It was pretty fun.

Saturday October 28, 1989

Brian and I went shopping and then played tennis - he won 7-6. Buntman, Sesel and I went to Nicki Todd's house and then cruised around Yonge & Eglington.

Friday October 27, 1989

United Way Day at school. It was a Grub Day. Went to the Promenade to run a couple errands with dad. Stayed there and had dinner at Pickel Barrel with Rog, Fingret, Katzin, Poster and Rabie.

Thursday October 26, 1989

Ms. Rapp cried again. I watched Montreal v. Chicago; as well as a Johnny Carson 27 Anniversary Special.

We got our Interim Report Cards. My hockey pool team is destroyed because of injuries. Played hockey in Highland Hall after school.

We finished making our Greek Tragedy masks in English A. I took Pepper for a lengthy walk after school. Did homework.

Veteran's Day in the U.S. I got 85% on my History test. Watched the Leaf game.

Did homework. Watched football. Went to granny's for dinner.

Saturday October 21, 1989

Played road hockey with Brad, Gavin, Ryan F, Wolodarsky, and Dave-something. Went to Lime Rickey's with Buntman, Jordi, Sesel, Brad, Guy and Newman. We saw T Diamond and J Bassen.

Friday October 20, 1989

Math test. Crescent School dance ... I didn't go. I went to Jill's (?) party. Everyone got wasted and the cops ended up coming. I crashed at Buntman's place.

Thursday October 19, 1989

History test on the American Revolution. I got 83% on my Accounting test. I got 75% on the French Test. Did a shitload of homework.

Wednesday October 18, 1989

I got 97.5% on my Science notes. I got 5/5 on the English B quiz. We had a school assembly.

Tuesday October 17, 1989

English B test. We had panzerottis for lunch. I did homework while listening to the Leafs-Penguins game on the radio. The Penguins won 7-5. Super Mario.

Monday October 16, 1989

I had 2 tests: Accounting and French. I got 83% on my previous French test and 90% on my essay for gym (health) class. Hot dogs for lunch. Did homework and watched TV.

Sunday October 15, 1989

Jordi, Buntman, Brad, Sesel and I went to Golden Star for lunch. Then we all went to Brad's place to watch football.

Saturday October 14, 1989

Big road hockey game on Pining (Guy's street). Had lunch at McDonald's. I watched the Winnipeg jets 5 vs. Toronto Maple Leafs 1.

Friday October 13, 1989

Math test. I went to Countdown at Thornlea with Katzin, Guy, Jordi, Alpern, etc. The Rolling Stones were #1. I slept over at Katzin's place.

[Note - Countdown was a big dance where they counted down to the greatest band.]

Thursday October 12, 1989

I got kicked out of French class for cracking jokes. I brought some of Gabe's Mr. Men T-Shirts to school and sold a handful. We played flag football in gym class. Spaghetti for lunch. I did homework and watched TV.

[Note - Gabe made Mr. Men T-Shirts to sell in residence to make some cash. Except his were a 'dirty' take on the classic characters.]

French oral quiz. I did well. Accounting pop-quiz. Stayed after school to study in the library.

Tuesday October 10, 1989

Handed in my essay for English B. I got 87.5% on my English B test. Vova and Natasha went back to Russia. I went to PJ's Pet Centre after school to buy a fish. watched TV.

Monday October 9, 1989

Thanksgiving Day and Yom Kippur. There was no school. Gabe went back to Western. I went to a big dinner at granny's place with a bunch of the family. This was Vova and Natasha's last night in Canada.

Sunday October 8, 1989

Played football at St. Rene with Buntman, Guy, Ryan F, Brad and Matt (Ryan's buddy). We went over to the Zarvinsky's house for Yom Kippur dinner.

Saturday October 7, 1989

Dad's 48th birthday. I grabbed brunch at Pickle Barrel with Sesel and Buntman. We watched the Jays go down 3-1 to the A's after losing a heartbreakers 6-5. Another huge dinner at our place. The Zarvinsky's, with Luba, came over; as did Vova, Natasha, Sonya, Rudolph and Nadia.

[Note: that may have been the last time those 4 siblings - Dora, Nadia, Vova and Rudolph - were in a room together.]

Friday October 6, 1989

I wrote 2 tests: English A and Science. Chicken fingers for lunch. Gabe came home for the weekend (because of dad's birthday). The Blue Jays finally won a game, beating Oakland 7-3. Jimmy Key got the win.

Thursday October 5, 1989

I got 5/5 on an assignment for Accounting class. We played flag football in gym class. NHL 1989-1990 season commenced.

Wednesday October 4, 1989

I got 80% on my Science project. We had roast beef sandwiches for lunch. I spent the night analyzing the hockey pool. The Oakland A's defeated Toronto 6-3 in game 2.

Tuesday October 3, 1989

I did a presentation on Phaeton in English B. I got 4/5 on a pop Geography test. I also wrote a Math test. Game 1 of the American League playoffs. The Blue Jays lost 7-3 to the Oakland A's.

Monday October 2, 1989

Drafted another hockey pool at school. I got 14/15 on my Accounting test. I got 34.5/40 on my History test. We had spaghetti for lunch.

Played stickball at St. Rene with Guy, Sesel, Buntman, Brad and Ryan.

[Note - we actually used a small bat, not a stick, but same difference]

Rosh Hashanah. I met up with Guy and Jordi for lunch. We hosted a big dinner at our home.

Gabe came home from London. We had a joint birthday and Rosh Hashanah dinner for him and then went over to granny's place. I worked on my essay about Greek Mythology.

Thursday September 28, 1989

Gabe turned 19! I wrote my History test. Turkey stew for dinner. Watched Cosby Show, A Different World, Cheers and Dear John.

We had roast beef for lunch. I studied for the History test. Watched TV.

I delivered a Science presentation and wrote a test in English B. I watched TV and called Gabe. He is having a blast at Western, living in Saugeen!

Chinese food for lunch. Wrote a huge Accounting test. I had a bunch of homework to do.

Drafted my regular season hockey pool. Nadia, Sonya, Rudolph, Vova, and Natasha came over to our place for dinner.

I went to the library with Sandro. Sesel, Buntman, Jordi and I went to see Sea of Love at Farview Mall, then I stayed over at Jord's place.

Friday September 22, 1989

In Science class we were taken out to the back area of the school to look for frogs, centipedes, salamanders, etc. Mac ' n' cheese for lunch. Sesel, Buntman, Rebecca, her friend and I drove around town (Lime Rickey's, Yonge & Eglington, etc.).

Thursday September 21, 1989

I got 76% on my French presentation. I quit the volleyball team. I went to granny's for dinner - Rudolph and Sonya were there.

[Note - I think I quit volleyball because I was getting benched despite the starters totally choking. Rudolph was my granny Dora's older brother who lived in Philadelphia. He was an engineer and worked many years for Honeywell. He died a short time later. His widow Sonya is still alive and in Philly.]

We played St. George's College in volleyball and lost. Brutal! We totally choked. Vova and Natasha came over for dinner. I did homework after.

I got 8/10 on my English A essay. I had a presentation in English B. Volleyball practice after school. I watched Who's The Boss and Wonder Years.

Disgusting meat pie for lunch. We had an assembly and I received a house (Wolfe) tie.

Buntman, Guy, Sesel and I went to Golden Griddle for a pancake brunch. Tzippy came over to our house.

We hosted a volleyball tournament at Crescent. Our team came in 4th place. Guy, Buntman, Jen, Talia and I went to Sila's house.

We had a class trip to the Ontario Science Centre. I had dinner at Pizza Hut with Jordi, Buntman and Guy.

I got 70% on a History test. We had spaghetti for lunch. Volleyball tryout after school. I made the team! Watched TV.

Another volleyball tryout. Vova Levinson (my granny's brother) and his wife Natasha arrived from Russia and came with granny to our place for dinner.

Buntman got his driver's license. I had volleyball tryouts. I got 11/14 on a math pop quiz, and 13.5/19 on an English pop quiz. We also got assigned an essay in English class - need to write about a movie of our choice.

I went to the first volleyball tryouts before school. Then another tryout after school. Did homework. Watched TV.

I went to granny's for lunch. Did homework. I watched the U.S. Open final: Boris Becker defeated Ivan Lendl 7–6(2), 1–6, 6–3, 7–6(4).

I went up to Thornhill (German Mills area) to hang out with Gary Don, George S, Fisch, Fingret, T Diamond, M Levine, J Dyan, Katzin, Roger, Bergman, Ben, Laurie, and Nicki.

I went to school. Guy, Buntman and I went to Lime Rickey's for dinner and saw George S, Brian, Fingret, Gary Don, Urman, J Gold, Lassman, Abramson, Shana, Mallins, Ashley, Rabie, Burnett.

Labour Day. Gabe left for his first year of university at The University of Western Ontario. He moved into Saugeen-Maitland. I watched more U.S. Open.

Played "wall ball" with Buntman, Brad, Sesel, Jordi & Guy. Then all of us went back to Buntman's to play Monopoly.

Brian, Brett and I played tennis at German Mills. Watched some of the U.S. Open. Brad, Sesel, Jordi, Guy, Buntman and I went to Yonge & Eglington. We had dinner at Lick's.

Brad, Buntman, Sesel and I went to see Uncle Buck at Farview Mall. Buntman and I then went to Lime Rickey's to meet up with Fingret, Rog and Gary Don.

I went to Sports Connection with Ryan. I saw the New Kids On The Block live concert movie Hangin' Tough with Katzin, Rog, Fingret, Fisch, and George S. We met a bunch of people from Fisherville Junior High.
