Saturday March 31, 1990

Jordi, Ulrich and I went down to the Gardens and met a bunch of the Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs (including Michel Goulet). I went back to Jordi's house after. Brad came over there and we watched the game on TV. The Leafs won 6-4. I ended up crashing there.

Friday March 30, 1990

We made masks for English A class with Roberts and Stremecki. This is for our study of Greek Tragedy. I stayed in and watched TV with mom (dad was working late).

Thursday March 29, 1990

French test. I got 32/40 on the History test. We had stew for lunch. I played badminton in Phys-Ed class.

Wednesday March 28, 1990

I wrote a History test. Egg salad for lunch. Parents' 23rd wedding anniversary. Arnold was in town from New York and celebrated with us (and stayed over). I watched thye Leafs lose 5-3 to the Islanders, but Gary Leeman scored his 50th goal - only the 2nd Leaf to do so!

Tuesday March 27, 1990

It looks like I'm going to win the regular season hockey pool! Chicken wings for lunch. I studied until late for the History test.

Monday March 26, 1990

I took the bus to school with Rachel. We had a big school assembly. I watched The Barbara Walters Special with interviews of Warren Beatty, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Chevy Chase. Following that was The 62nd Academy Awards.

[Note - Rachel was this girl that went to Havergal and got on the same bus as me each morning. Inevitably we started to chat and became friendly. I think I may have even had a small crush at one point, but she ended up dating some older guys at the school.]

I had 4 goals and 8 assists in the win.

Saturday March 24, 1990

I went to Slugger's by myself and bought the entire 89-90 O-Pee-Chee set. I went over to Cliff's house. Brian came over and we ordered pizza and watched Toronto 4 Quebec 3. Painful. I slept over at Cliff's.

Friday March 23, 1990

I woke up late and just hung around Saugeen. I went on campus to buy some UWO gear and then took the Greyhound home. It was hard saying bye to Gabe. Great trip!

[Note: I decided I would be going to UWO on that bus ride home)

Thursday March 22, 1990

I slept in and then went for lunch on campus. I hung out with Alter for a while. He showed me his music collection and taught me about The Pixies. We had dinner in the caf and then drank on Gabe's floor with a bunch of people. We ended up going to The Ridout. My last night in London and I got WASTED!

Wednesday March 21, 1990

I walked around London, starting at the gates and all the way down Richmond to Galleria Mall. I stopped for lunch at Sebastian's Market. Gabe, Mike, Erez and a few other guys and I went to Otto's for chicken wings and the Leafs 5 Rangers 5 game. Then we went to party at Dr. Rockets - amazing!

[Note - although underage, the perk of having an older brother that looks enough like you!]

Tuesday March 20, 1990

I went with Gabe to a few classes and walked around the UWO campus. I had lunch at the food court inside the University Community Centre. I went to the D.B. Weldon library. Eventually went back to Saugeen and just hung out. We had dinner in the cafeteria and then went somewhere on campus and played basketball (with Erez, Alter, etc.). I stayed up late eating pizza and watching Do The Right Thing with people on Gabe's floor.

Monday March 19, 1990

I took the Greyhound bus up to London. Gabe met me at the bus station and we went back to his room at Saugeen. I met his roommate Mitch and his funny buddy Mike (with the racing shirt). We all had dinner in the cafeteria and then watched TV in the big TV room across from the caf. We ended up playing ball hockey in the games room until really late. It was INCREDIBLE!

Sunday March 18, 1990

I went to visit granny and then spent the day helping mom clean the house. I then packed for my trip to Western (to visit Gabe).

Saturday March 17, 1990

St. Patrick's Day. Jordi, Guy and I went down to Sluggers to buy hockey parapheanlia (mostly cards ... but i also got a Quebec Nordiques keychain). We all went back to Jordi's house and watched the Leaf game.

Friday March 16, 1990

Jordi came over to my house. We went to McDonalds for lunch and had a crazy "incident". Some girls sitting behind me were flicking fries at each other and a couple missed and hit me and Jordi. So Jordi got into an argument with one of them and then threw his drink on her. Then she went to splash him with her drink, but most of it hit me in the back. I didn't care though. I was laughing my ass off. That night I went to Jordi's (and Guy's) hockey game.

Thursday March 15, 1990

I helped clean Brad's new house (on Kings College at Vanhorn). We grabbed lunch at Pizza Chef. I went home and watched Bruins 3 Jets 3. Gary Don came by for a bit.

Wednesday March 14, 1990

I went to Richmond Hill Country Club with Josh K, Ilan and Brad. We had lunch there and played tennis. I went back to Brad's place; we watched Rangers 8 Leafs 2 and I slept over.

I had dinner at Jordi's place and then we went bowling at Newtonbrook with Buntman.

Monday March 12, 1990

Ryan, Cliff and I went to Maple Leaf Gardens to watch the Edmonton Oilers practice. We were able to sneak into the dressing room and see all the players (including a naked Bill Ranford). We also discovered a secret place in the Gardens where you could buy 25 cent pop! I slept over at Cliff's. We watched the game and ordered pizza.

Sunday March 11, 1990

Cliffy and I went down to the Westin Harbour Castle and met all of the Edmonton Oilers. Went home for dinner and then watched The People's Choice Awards.

Saturday March 10, 1990

Jordi came over to my place. We played a little ping-pong and thn went to Burger King for lunch. We hooked up with Brad, Sesel, and Josh K for dinner at Lime Rickey's and then played some "Stripes or Solids" at the billiards place across from Town & Country (at Yonge & Steeles).

Friday March 9, 1990

The first day of March Break. I went over to granny's place for lunch. Guy, Brett Massey and I went to see Bad Influence at Canada Square. Great movie!

Thursday March 8, 1990

Last day of school before March Break. We stuck around and played floor hockey for a while (6 goals, 11 assist). I went to mom's work after.

Wednesday March 7, 1990

We played Murderball (aka Dodgeball) in Phys-Ed. Michel Goulet's first game as a Blackhawk. Did homework.

Tuesday March 6, 1990

I went back to school. We had noodles for lunch. I played floor hockey in Phys-Ed, but played goalie because still getting over my cold. NHL trade deadline - the biggest deal being Peter Stastny traded from Quebec to New Jersey for Craig Wolanin and future considerations. I watched Octopussy after dinner.

[Note - despite plenty of rumors, I didn't believe it would really happen. A dark day.]

Monday March 5, 1990

Still sick, so didn't go to school. I watched The Untouchables and did homework. The end of an era ... Michel Goulet was traded to Chicago with Greg Millen and Quebec's 6th round choice (Kevin St. Jacques) in 1991 Entry Draft for Mario Doyon, Everett Sanipass and Dan Vincelette.

[Note: Goulet went on to play another 4 seasons for Chicago.]

Sunday March 4, 1990

I caught a cold. Stayed in and watched Can't Buy Me Love. I love that movie. Granny came back from California.

Saturday March 3, 1990

Played road hockey with Ryan, Andy, Newman and Cliff. Watched Red Wings 5 v. Leafs 2.

Friday March 2, 1990

I wrote a Math test. Lasagna for lunch. Cliff and I went to Ryan's house in Newmarket. We went to the Newmarket Saints v. Utica Devils game and then stayed over at Ryan's.

Thursday March 1, 1990

Peanut butter and jam sandwiches for lunch. We played floor hockey in Phys-Ed class and I had 3 goals and 8 assists. Did homework and watched a little of the Bruins v. Habs game.

Wednesday February 28, 1990

Right after school I took Wolfson with me to the Harbor Castle Westin and we met all of the Quebec Nordiques. I finally got Peter Stastny to sign something to me personally! We also met Sakic, Lafleur, Goulet and the rest of the team. Wolfson couldn't believe that I wasn't full of shit when I told him that we could meet all the players. That night the Leafs beat Quebec 5-4.

Tuesday February 27, 1990

Handed in my English B essay. Then we got nailed with a test in English B and Science class. We played hockey after school and I was on fire - 5 goals and 3assist. Mr. Davies played with us.

Monday February 26, 1990

I got 97% on my Accounting mid-term! I worked on my English B essay. Hot dogs for lunch.
