Saturday January 31st, 1987

Jordan Milberg's Bar-Mitzvah at Adath Israel. Carpooled down with Singer, Hart, Brian & Ulrich. He gave out t-shirts with everyone's signature on it.

Friday January 30th, 1987

We had a P.A. day (never knew what that stood for) ... meaning NO SCHOOL! Hart and I spent the afternoon causing trouble at The Promenade. That night we hooked up with Jon Cohen, Damon and Zahler.

Thursday January 29th, 1987

A friend of my grandparents', and father of my parent's friend Simon - Yakkov Simonovich committed suicide (jumped off his 14th story balcony).

The last school ski day at Uplands. Hart dumped Shelly. Hart and I crashed the Bayview Fairways dance … saw Jon Cohen, Cara Rosenblum, Tammy Sussman, Jen North, Adam Burnett, etc.

Wednesday January 28th, 1987

Played ice hockey after school at German Mills with Hart, Milberg, Brian & Ulrich.

Tuesday January 27th, 1987

Hart, Ulrich & I went to McDonald's at Markham Place for lunch (hey, I didn't say every day something monumental happens!).

Monday January 26th, 1987

Completed and handed in my science paper on volcanoes (OK I made that up ... no idea what it was on). Played ice hockey after school w/Gary, Ron, Ulrich, Ryan and Jordi. Sheesh, from these first posts you would think I would have turned out to be a decent player.

Saturday January 24th, 1987

Hart and I took the Steeles 53 East bus to Town & Country Mall. Met up with Tara Lampert and her friend. We ended up going to the Famous Players Cinema to see Critical Conditions starring R.Pryor.

Friday January 23rd, 1987

Career Day at German Mills. Various parents from different fields came to present information on their area of expertise. I went to Hospitality, Psychology, Health and Technology. (Who knew that 20 years later I would basically be involved in 2 of 4).

Ryan, Ron, Hart & I played ice hockey at German Mills Park after school.

Thursday January 22nd, 1987

School ski day number 3. The grade 8's, particularly Jonas Cohen, were shooting their mouths off on the bus ride up to Uplands. There was some verbal sparring and then threats made over the course of the day on the slopes. Eventually word got out that there was going to be a rumble between the grade 7s and 8s after school. Well rumor became reality and a number of fights happened after we got back to German Mills ... including - Me & Alan Newstead, Hart & Ryan Wagman and a few others. I wonder how much it had to do with us watching The Outsiders a few weeks earlier???

Wednesday January 21st, 1987

Had a math test. In gym class started teasing Jakub, and he ended up attacking me in the changeroom after class. It got broken up by Mr. Goldberg before he had a chance to give me a good whooping (one of the few people in my grade that could). Went to Richmond Hill Country Club after school. Gary and I played doubles against Hart and Yves.

Tuesday January 20th, 1987

The volleyball team had a pizza party after our practice. Later that night played ice hockey on a patch of ice in the field at German Mills with Ryan.

Monday January 19th, 1987

I did my speech on Pepper, my German Sheppard. There was a major snowstorm so we got to leave school a little early.

Sunday January 18th, 1987

Jordi and I went out shovelling driveways - made $6.50 each! Spent the night finishing my speech. Hart called - friends again.

Saturday January 17th, 1987

Hart & I took the bus to Farview Mall. We ended up walking home and got into a pretty big fight.

Friday January 16th, 1987

Had a French Test. Played tennis at Mayfair with Hart after school. Dinner at Hart's, and slept over.

Thursday January 15th, 1987

Our second ski day at Uplands. Used the T-bar for the first time.

Wednesday January 14th, 1987

The school dance that was planned got cancelled. Played foot hockey (really more like soccer with a tennis ball now that I think about it) after school with Ron, Brian, Hart, Milberg and Ulrich.

Tuesday January 13th, 1987

Found out J. Shaw likes me (unfortunately I can't remember her at all --- she didn't go to German Mills).

Monday January 12th, 1987

I got an A on the math test I wrote before the break! A white board came around to sign. It was for a t-shirt being made for Milberg's bar-mitzvah.

Sunday January 11th, 1987

Spent the day with Jordi. Hung out at his place and then went tobogganing at Cakebread Park (he had the GT Racer). Hooked up with Hart in the evening. Played tennis at Mayfair. He destroyed me 6-2, 6-3. I must have been exhausted from the tobagganing (not to mention the years of lessons Hart already had).

Saturday January 10th, 1987

Went to the Promenade Mall with Hart, Shelly & Shelly. That night my whole family went to Sharon Z's birthday party at their place on Tiffany Gate.

Friday January 9th, 1987

Ron & I went to Hart's place for lunch. We ended up drinking Sarasodas from straws (because it gets you drunk).

Thursday January 8th, 1987

School ski trip to Uplands. This was my first time ever skiing.

Wednesday January 7th, 1987

Went over to Hart's for lunch. Made some Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Tuesday January 6th, 1987

Gabe drove me to school for the first time - he got a car. Hart and I went to McDonald's at Markham Square for lunch. Played some road hockey after school.

Monday January 5th, 1987

Christmas break is over - back to school to complete the second half of grade 7 at German Mills. Public speaking (speeches) started in Ms. Algie's class. Ulrich broke up with Elana.

Sunday January 4th, 1987

Jordi and I went public skating at Clatworthy Arena. Brian came home from the holidays with his dad in Hartford. I did geography class homework. Went to bed early to get some rest before going back to school.

Saturday January 3rd, 1987

Hart, Milberg, Shelly V & P, Belinda and I went over to Marla R's place. Ended up 'necking' with Marla (4th girl I had ever kissed). Late afternoon went over to Mayfair to play some singles with Hart. He won. Met up with Jon Cohen after. We all ended up hanging out at Hart's place.

Friday January 2, 1987

I went back to Mayfair to play doubles with Hart, Ulrich and Milberg. We had lunch at the club. Met up with my grandparents for dinner. Hart & I rented Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders, which was actually only 4 years old at the time!

Thursday January 1st, 1987

After spending New Year's Eve at Hart's house, we ended up crashing at my parent's place on Simonston Blvd. That afternoon we hooked up with Milberg at Mayfair and played tennis all day.
