I got a B+ on my Family Studies test. We made pizza in the class that day. I spent lunch trading hockey cards with Dan Hoffman. Mom and I went grocery shopping at Highland Farms, and then went to see grandparents.

Saturday May 14, 1988

I took the bus alone to Sports Connection to buy hockey cards. The whole family, including grandparents, went to La Semme for lunch. Played road hockey on our street with Dan, Avi, Gabe and Brian. Boston beat NJ 6-2.

Thursday May 12, 1988

Stayed home from school again. Went to visit grandparents. Studied for the science test. Watched NJ beat Boston 6-3, as well as Night Court, Cheers and The Cosby Show.

Sunday March 27, 1988

Palm Sunday. Studied geography. I went over to grandparent's place. Watched Married With Children and Family Ties.

Sunday March 13, 1988

Mom and I went to Franklins. Then we picked up Chinese food and took it over to my grandparent's place. Quebec beat Hartford 4-1. I watched 60 Minutes and Family Ties.

Sunday January 10, 1988

Played road hockey with Pepper. Basically I would need to keep the ball away from her ... sounds weird, but this game actually helped me develop my superior stick handling. (That's right superior ... 2nd in scoring in the German Mills floor hockey tournie!). Gabe and I went to Kiva's to grab bagels, lox, and cream cheese like the good Jewish boys we were. Went to visit grandparents with mom.

Saturday November 7, 1987

I made $12 at our garage sale (which is like $100 today). Watched hockey on TV. I took Pepper for a major walk in G Ross Lord park. Gabe & I picked up his car from the shop and then went to visit our grandparents.

Monday October 12, 1987

Thanksgiving holiday ... parents out of town but my mother never made turkey dinners anyway and still to this day 20 years later ... no turkey dinner in my house. I did rent Burglar to compensate though ... Whoopi Goldberg in her prime ... I guess I got a turkey after all! That night I slept over at my grandparent's place.

Wednesday September 30, 1987

Packed a lunch and ate at school for the 1st time this year. Got into a fight with Hart. Watched TV. Zama, the Zarvinsky's and grandparents came over to celebrate a belated birthday for Gabe.

Gabe's 17th Birthday! Grandparent's and Mania came over for a celebration dinner.

Wednesday September 2, 1987

Gabe, Steve, Marc & I went to Family Kartways in Whitby. Grandparents came over. Took Pepper for a long walk and just hung out in the neighborhood.

Tuesday August 25, 1987

Stayed home and just hung around the house. That evening there was a big dinner at our place in honor of my Bar-Mitzvah: Zarvinsky's, Polischuck's, Luba, Vitsa, Dora Abramnaya, and my grandparents. Vitsa cooked the majority of stuff and it was absolutely incredible food.

Walked around Brighton. Back to the beach. Had lunch at Nadia's place with my grandparents.

Wednesday August 12, 1987

Just spent the day back on the beach and hanging around the boardwalk. That evening Inna came back down with Sasha. We played arcade games and just hung out. My grandparents and a gazillion other Russians would just sit on the boardwalk and chat, or stroll, or play chess.

Sunday August 9, 1987

Spent the day at the beach. Mom's friend Inna Shuster came down from New Jersey with her son Sasha. Sasha and I hung out and played a baseball video game at a store on the boardwalk. Had dinner with Nadia and Felix (her husband) and my grandparents (who also came down).

Tuesday August 4, 1987

Ran errands with mom. Went to Dr. Livshitz with dad for a check-up. Grandparents came over with Vitza. She is an amazing cook and prepared an incredible meal for us. Marc and I went over to Ilan's to watch Private School.

Monday August 3, 1987

Dad and I went to play tennis at Rockford in the morning. Went with parents to Red Lobster around Yonge & Clark for lunch. That was our first and last visit to Red Lobster. Had dessert and coffee at Nina Daversa after. That night we went over to grandparent's apartment (4455 Bathurst St.) to welcome their friend - Vitsa - from San Francisco.

Had a big brunch at our place in the backyard w/Leah, Izzy, Danny, Jody, Dora A, Manya, Dolik, Sharon, Tzippy, and Luba. Grandparents came for brunch too. Watched Married With Children.

Grandparents came over to the house. Got a haircut. Watched tennis on TV.

Monday June 15, 1987

Very boring day - wanted to go back to school. Cleaned my room. Grandparents came over.
